Upholding the traditions of premium quality and service, the 145-year Old Italian Company PANERAI,unveiled its new watch.

Speaking at the launch, M. Romain Le Chevallier, Brand Manager, PANERAI, said, “ We feel that purchasing a watch is a very personal decision, and one that you should feel comfortable and informed about the making. These timeless pieces are an expression of contemporariness through the essentiality of its form, its content as well as its image ‘’. He further added, “PANERAI believes that time belongs to those who values it and we present a combination of Italian designs with the prestige of traditional Swiss watchmaking.”

The company’s latest creation, which will be presented during the 2005 SIHH Geneva watch fair, is called “Luminor GMT Arktos”. It has an automatic mechanical Panerai OP VIII calibre with COSC Chronometer Certificate. Black dial with luminous markers and Arabic numerals, small seconds at 9 o’clock, indication of second time zone on the outer edge are some of its distinctive features. The other characteristics include steel case with brushed finish, in three parts, diameter 44 mm, soft iron supplementary anti-magnetic internal case, device protecting the winding crown (Trade Mark), steel bezel with brushed finish, with the four letters of the cardinal points and the four markers applied in white gold, sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment 3 mm thick, magnifying lens for the date applied internally to the crystal at 3 o’clock. Steel screw back with a reproduction of the logo of the Arktos Expedition in relief, personalised folding buckle in steel with brushed finish, supplied with extra strap with Velcro closure.

Mike Horn, hero of the Arktos Expedition, 2 years round the North Pole expedition, has tested this watch under extreme weather conditions and high magnetic fields.
